Plan of Management

The Yarrie Lake Land Manager, working with Prometheus Planning, is preparing a Plan of Management to protect Yarrie Lake and keep it open for everyone to enjoy.

The plan will:

  • Outline key environmental and cultural values;
  • Guide the management of recreation, access and infrastructure;
  • Assess options for sustainable water management, including the proposed groundwater bore system to replenish the lake during dry periods;
  • Identify future uses and opportunities; and
  • Include input from the local community at every stage.

Community engagement includes:

  • Online survey and feedback forms;

  • Public workshops and stakeholder meetings;

  • Drop-in sessions at Yarrie Lake, and in Narrabri and Wee Waa; and

  • A public exhibition of the draft plan before it’s finalised.
